RON notarizations allow documents to be notarized remotely, eliminating the need for travel. Signers can participate from any location, but Notaries must work within their commission state. Identity is verified through security questions (KBA) based on U.S. records and a scanned photo ID. A computer with a camera, microphone, and secure internet is required. Always confirm local regulations before scheduling. 

A typical RON session lasts 10–15 minutes, covering identity verification, document signing, and digital sealing. Complex transactions like real estate loans may require up to 60 minutes, and first-time users may take longer due to technology setup.

Numerous states, including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia, have established permanent Remote Online Notarization (RON) statutes. The regulations governing RON vary from state to state. 

  To prepare for a successful Remote Online Notarization (RON), kindly follow the steps in the checklist below: 

1. Secure the Environment. Work in a private, well-lit, quiet place.
2. Log in Early. Join 5–10 minutes early to fix any pre-session issues.
3. Technology Check. Test your camera, microphone, and internet connection. Using headphones is optional yet recommended for optimal audio quality.
4. Communication. Have your phone number and email address accessible during the meeting. This will allow us to promptly address any technical difficulties that may arise.  
5. Identify Verification Process. To ensure the protection and verification of your identity, you are required to complete a brief two-step identification process comprising Biometrics and Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA). This combined procedure is      efficient, typically taking approximately two minutes to complete. For Biometrics, please present your government-issued identification. For KBA, verify your identity by responding to several multiple-choice questions.
6. Prepare Documents (Except for Signatures). Make sure you have the complete document, including any attachments, exhibits, or notarization instructions if applicable. Missing pages or incomplete packages can delay the notarization process. It’s important to fill out all required fields in your document prior to the appointment—except where your signature is needed. NEVER PRE-SIGN THE DOCUMENT. 
7. Check for Witnesses. Have witnesses present, if required. If you are unsure whether witnesses are necessary, ask ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.
